Mountain Man

I'm not quite sure who this man is supposed to be! I call him a "Mountain Man" because I'm not sure what else to call him. I wish I'd used a wider aperture here, so I could have softened the background a little. Notice the people chompng down--that's what the Feast is all about!

He looks like a fur-trader with all that fur he's carrying and wearing. It would be interesting to know who he represents. The necklace is quite fantastic as is the outer jacket. - and you got to love those moccasins; bet they are toasty warm. Excellent photo Brian

This guy plays the role of a "coureur des bois", independent small scale fur traders that lived amoung the native tribes and often had native women. One example would be Toussaint Charbonneau, the "guide" for the Lewis and Clark expedition. Actually his wife Sacagawea was the real guide...
