I thought that this was a good subject with which to begin October. Soon, the trees will indeed be bare for those of us living in the northern hemisphere.

Oh my! This looks like a sketch of some sort! What a very interesting processing! I really like the smallest of detail that was brought out by the processing method. Please do let your blog admirers know how you did this. This is truly a piece of art-it would look fantastic framed and displayed. Indeed, an excellent start to the month of October!

LV--I took 3 bracketed exposures and produced an HDR image. I then pulled the image into Corel Paint Shop Pro and used the clarify function to boost the image into the HDR "insane zone." I did some noise reduction work and I converted the resulting image to monochrome (red filter conversion) and boosted contrast to remove much of the grey. I ended with a trace contour function. The dark halo around the trees is actually the remnants of the intense, blue sky of the original image.

I really enjoyed this photo , made me think of a snow covered day back in frontier days, very nostalgic feel to it.
