What a great capture of the fury of the waves and the cloud formation in the sky. Fantastic framing in this picture Brian! I like the contrast in colors of the water, the deep dark color of the sky and then the soft hue of the sand.

Strangely enough, it was a very warm day--temp about 85 degrees F and the water was wonderfully warm, too. And although the sky was dark and tumbling and the wind strong, it didn't rain!

Hamid--it did look a little that way in real life. Unfortunately, I only had an old camera with me, but I think its limitations added to the picture and made it a little more surreal. I did no processing on this image at all.

Nice picture - glad I was not there. I would have tried cropping out much of the foreground and exposing for the sky. The converging lines lead the eye in nicely.

Aayawa--I agonized about cropping, but left the image as it was--primarily because it was a low-res capture and it didn't crop well. I also liked the sense of space and emptiness the small figures suggest against the wider background.

Yes, I think the vastness of the sky and sea, and the smallness of the figures speaks about our place in the whole order of things. Very nicely put-together.

I like the soft colors in this, and as Viewfinder points out it really puts into perspective the frailty of humans as opposed to the power of nature.

Ian--I did try boosting the saturation, contrast, and sharpness, but I couldn't find a combination I liked better than the original shot. Sometimes leaving something alone gives the best image. Thank you everyone for the comments and suggestions.
